Budget Ministry trains Staff on IPPIS Reform Platform on Effective Usage
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Olusola Idowu, has flagged off the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information system (IPPIS) Human Resource Go-Live Training Programme for staff members of the Ministry, in Abuja.
The purpose of the IPPIS Go-Live implementation training is to enable Federal Government staff members, who are the end users of the system be trained on how to access the specific functionalities of the IPPIS Reform platform and be able to carry out online activities that are personal to them in the areas tagged: IPPIS Employee Request; my information, annual leave plan, absence management, payslip service, incident report amongst others.
Mrs. Idowu stated that the initiative would replace the manual application used hitherto; adding that “it will definitely reduce time, staff movement; papers wasted on these activities and therefore enhance our compliance with the international standard of paperless economy as well as cost effectiveness”

Stressing the importance and timeliness of the training, Idowu urged all participants to take advantage of the training and build up the necessary skills at the workshop to be able to interface with the system for the expected result.
She commended the Federal government for the initiative, which is facilitated by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) as part of the reform programme of the federal government.
Earlier, the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Mr. Lanre Adekanye, in his welcome address, charged the participants to be committed towards the training and accord it the seriousness it deserved. He further said that MBNP was one of the five MDAs selected for the pilot exercise.
The facilitator at the training, an Assistant Director, from the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Mr. Bashir Bello Shagari, said that the programme was important considering the human resource component of the IPPIS platform.
He added that the training would be held in 2 batches daily, for a period of 10 days and the exercise would be followed by issuance of Employee Service User Access right and password to ensure accessibility to the platform.
