The Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment Sen. Chris Nwabueze Ngige has described the late Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. James Enojo Ocholi (SAN), as an accomplished intellectual, who was ebullient and deductive in evaluating issues, yet very humble. He therefore asked Nigerians especially the youths to emulate his virtues.
Sen. Ngige stated this in a condolence letter he addressed to the Ocholi family of Abocho in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, on behalf of Umu-Ngige clan of Alor, Idemili South L.G.A of Anambra State.
“I had the privilege of working with your son, James till his death. He was unassuming, humble yet ebullient, hardworking and a believer in the English maxim that the reward for good work is more work. He was cerebral and scientifically deductive in his evaluation of issues,” he said.
Quoting Michael Angelo, Ngige asserted that the late Minister of State, his wife, Blessing and son, Joshua came to this earth by birth and have left through death as both birth and death of a loved one are from the same Grand Master-God Almighty who we cannot query.
According to him, the tragedy that befell the Ocholis nudges the consciousness once more to the indisputable in Macbeth’s, “life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more,” declaring that ” James Ocholi SAN, his wife, Blessing and son, Joshua have played theirs and left the stage!
While praying for the repose of their souls, the Minister further stated that “we acknowledge the inevitability of death as a mystery whose solution lies only with the Almighty, yet it still comes as a shock when death happens, especially, when it is the death of good people.” He added that consolation lies in the beatific bliss where the Ocholis have gone to join the saints triumphant.
