NPL Welcomes 50 Youths for 1-month Leadership Training

About 50 select youths on Monday began a four-week leadership programme, in Abuja.

The mentorship programme is organized by the Nigerian Prize for Leadership, NPL.

It is intended to equip Nigerian youths with strong moral, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical capacities, which readies them for leadership in different spheres of the society.

The course participants were welcomed at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, PSIN, in Kubwa, by members of the NPL Governing Board, led by the Chairman, and Vice Chairman, Prof. Anya O. Anya; and Prof. Jerry Gana.

In his remark, Prof. Anya, said the critical role youths play in nation building underscores the Ambassadors Leadership Programm (ALP) to raise and groom a new generation of exceptional leaders, from the six geo-political zones.

He explained that the mission of the NPL is to institute and project a truly Nigerial leadership prize that will inspire Nigerians to lead a life larger than self, for community, nation and humanity.

“It is envisaged to be the highest, most reliable and prestigious single leadership prize in Nigeria, targeting Nigerians of all ages, who have demonstrated character, credibility, competence, creativity, exemplary sacrifice, with sustainable success,” he said.

While welcoming participants of the second ALP 2021, Prof. Vincent Anigbogu, said, “The aim of ALP is to develop competent young leaders that can lead different sectors in our life.”

Anigbogu, Chairman, Programmes Development Committee, NPL, noted that the programme is designed to strengthen the moral, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual aspects of the participants.

“To achieve this, the Programme Development Committee consulted far and wide to come up with a four-week programme that is rigorous, fun, varied and extraordinarily rich. Learning will be communicated through lectures, movies and documentaries, case studies, group discussions, and group and personal assignments,” he said.
