Sport unlocks hidden Talent in Youths- Irabor
The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Leo Irabor, on Tuesday, states that the sports championship is to unravel potential talents from teeming youths as part of the Federal Government’s vision to empowerment the youths.
He made this known in a remark to sign off the ‘2022 edition of Abuja Military Barracks Youths Sports Championship,’ organized by Abuja Military Barrack Youth Sports Championship, at Mogadishu Cantonment football Complex, Abuja.
According to CDC Irabor, represented by Director of Education, Air Admiral Chibike Azike said the event is apt to gainfully occupy our youth to keep them off social vices that currently pervade our society.

He said: “with 500 youth participating in this championship in various sports activities, I have no doubt that new talent will unfold, with the expectation to have future potential that will blossom into the national and international championship.
In his welcome address, the Director for sports and chairman of COC, Air Vice Marshall Framh Batnah said, the event is to foster cooperation among the youth and ensure health balance for their physical fitness as it makes them maintain good health and remain alert in overall performance, especially in education.
He said: “is a platform to establish peaceful coexistence among the member of the barracks”
The CDC also commissioned the Remodelled Mogadishu Cantonment Football complex.
The event also features a football competition between the n Lungi team and the Air Force Base team.
