    Gidado Heads Kwara Senatorial Candidate’s Campaign Media Team

    An award-winning media entrepreneur and editor, Gidado Shuaib, will be heading the Media and Communications Directorate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha.

    To this end, Gidado will coordinate the media activities of the Saliu Mustapha Campaign Organisation (SAMCO) in a bid to secure the Kwara Central Senatorial seat for the APC in the 10th Assembly.

    Mustapha’s campaign organisation, in a statement, announced the appointment during the inauguration of SAMCO’s council members in Ilorin on Saturday.

    According to the statement, Gidado, a vibrant and energetic young professional, will bring to bear his multimedia experience, which cuts across both local and international media organisations.

    “Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s campaign is an all-inclusive project that has young people at its core. Gidado’s appointment further affirms Turaki’s belief in the potentials of the teeming youthful population and their role in governance,” the statement read.

    The 26-year-old is the editor of Youths Digest and News Digest, a reputable online publication with its head office in Abuja.

    A graduate of Baze University Abuja and the University of Westminster, London, Shuaib was among the delegates at the United Nations Youth Assembly held in New York in 2015.

    Also, he is a recipient of the SME100Nigeria Under 25 Young Entrepreneurs award and Nigerian Universities Merit awards.

    Gidado’s professional journey has made him serve in various media organisations including Premium Times, Daily Trust Newspaper and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

    Among other posts held, he chairs the Nigerian Technology Market Advisory Council.

    Notably, Gidado is the grandson of revered Islamic scholar, late Imam Abdulhameed Shuaib Agaka and the eldest son of the publisher of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Yushau Shuaib.
