Bauchi Govt Doesn’t Feed Prison Inmates- NPS

The attention of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Bauchi State Command has been drawn to a purported claim made by an APC party stalwart in the State in a Globe FM radio programme tagged ” Daga Kananan Hukumomi” where he erroneously listed the feeding of prison inmates in the State as part of the achievements of Bauchi State government under the leadership of Governor M.A. Abubakar.

The Bauchi State Prison Command wishes to put the records straight and state that, feeding of prison inmates nationwide is the sole responsibility of the Federal Government which it has been doing relentlessly through the award of contracts for the supply of ration and gas.

While the Service wishes to acknowledge and commend the goodwill and support it receives from the Bauchi State Government, we wish to State unequivocally that inmates feeding is not part of the state government’s gestures towards the prisons, hence, the claim by the party stalwart was baseless, misleading and should be disregarded.
