Police Nab 182 Cultists in Anambra

In continuation of its determination to stem the tide of crime and ensure safety of lives and property in Anambra State, the Command Special Anti Cultism unit,Special Anti robbery Squad SARS and Divisional Police headquarters had during the period under review carried out a coordinated Raids on Criminal hideouts and blackspots as follows,

2. Between 6/1/2019 to date, the State Command through a coordinated Raids of criminal hideouts have arrested a total number of One hundred and Eighty Two suspected cultists from various parts of the State as follows.Enugwu ukwu/Njikoka LGA 4 suspected cultists were arrested, Onitsha Aguleri/Onitsha 6 Suspects arrested, Ogaru Axis 8 Suspects arrested,Oko 4 Suspects arrested,Abagana/Umuokpu 9 Suspects arrested, Awada area 6 Suspects arrested,Amansea/amawbia/ifitedunu areas 25 suspects arrested, Nsugbe/Nkwelle/Igbariam axis 22 Suspected cultists arrested, Oyeagu Junction 1 suspect arrested, Awka/Okpuno/Enugwu ukwu /Abakaliki street /Etiti axis 23 suspects arrested, Nibo/Nise 5 suspects arrested,Obosi 41 suspects arrested,Ugbenu Awka North 7 suspects arrested, Nkpor/Agu/Ogidi 12 suspects arrested, Awkuzu 9 suspects arrested respectively.

3. Consequently, the Command has equally recovered the following exhibits from the raids,

-Three machetes,
-Two knives,
-One hammer,
-Some quantities of dry leaves suspected to be Indian,
-Substances suspected to be cocaine.

4. Meanwhile, out of the 182 suspects arrested so far,Thirty one suspects have confessed and charged to Court, 35 were screened and released ,Eleven suspects are under Age and placed under supervision while (105) others are undergoing investigation.

Finally, the Command implores the Public to report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest Police Station or call this emergency number 07039194332 for prompt response, please.
