How Protester Assaulted Police Cameramen in Abuja- Spokesperson

The attention of the FCT police command have been drawn to sensational stories in social media over an incident at the Minister’s gate.

To set the record right, two police camera men were detailed to video the activities at the scene of the protest. At the venue of the protest , they were vehemently prevented from carrying out their lawful duty as the protesters disapproved police photographers to Video their activities.

The police photographers were not only humiliated but were booed and assaulted by some of the protesters who went wild despite police caution.

It is rather unfortunate that a photographer doing his work as seen is being portrayed in bad light and aimed to discredit the police.

It should be noted that the police photographers were at the scene to capture the activity just like any other photographer.

The police therefore wish to disabuse the mind of members of the public to ignore the circulating assault and insult story as it is not the true situation.
