NEMA Distributes Relief Items to 656 IDP Households in Adamawa
In continuation with the efforts to provide succor to the displaced persons and in line with the agenda of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk on welfare of the IDPs, President Mohammadu Buhari has approved for provision of relief items for distribution to internally displaced persons (IDPs) through the Director General of NEMA, AVM Muhammad Alhaji Muhammad (rtd) in Adamawa State.
The Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office Mr. Midala Iliya Anuhu in charge of Adamawa and Taraba flagged off the distribution at Fufore IDPs camp. While speaking to newsmen during the distribution exercise, he mentioned that the exercise is a continuation of the monthly food distribution meant to ameliorate the suffering of the IDPs and further reiterated the Agency’s commitment and readiness towards sustaining the monthly food distribution. He added that the items distributed in each of the camps were as follows:

Speaking on behalf of the IDPs in Fufore camp, Madam Yakaru Kachalla Assistant Women Leader Fufore camp expressed their sincere appreciation to the Federal Government, the Honorable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Social development, and the DG of NEMA for the timely monthly food assistance they have been receiving since his assumption of office. He however solicited for more assistance in the aspect of health in the camps.
The Head of Operations on behalf of the Director General wished the internally displaced Persons in Adamawa a very peaceful eid-el-kabir, while urging them to be patriotic citizens and abide by the safety rules aimed at protecting them against the menace of the covid 19 pandemic.
