NIGERIAN ARMY CALLS FOR IMPROVED SYNERGY WITH NCoS.

The Commandant Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS) Bauchi, Maj.Gen. BO Sawyerr has called for improved synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Correctional Service.

The Commandant made the call today during a courtesy visit he paid to the Controller of Corrections Bauchi State Command in his office.

Maj. Gen. Sawyerr noted that the Correctional Service is a critical partner in the security architecture of this country hence the need to collaborate with the Army for effective service delivery.

He added that, the Nigerian Army Amour School, as a training institution, is willing to learn more about the operations of NCoS as it affects management of offenders.

In his remarks, the Controller of Corrections Bauchi State Command CCS Suleiman T Suleiman, commended the Commandant for the visit. He added that there has been a cordial working relationship between the Armour School and NCoS Bauchi.

While wishing the new Commandant of the Armour School a happy stay in Bauchi, he also assured him of his support and a robust relationship between the two agencies.

BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT DONATES COVID-19 ITEMS TO CUSTODIAL CENTRES

The government of Benue State has donated Covid-19 items:Buckets with taps,Sanitol hand wash, Mats, Mattresses, Tissue papers, Plastic stands, Izal, Face masks, Infrared thermometers, Hand sanitizers and Protective gloves to Benue State Command of Nigerian Correctional Service.

The donation was in response to the request made by the Controller of Corrections Benue State Command, Nwabia Amaka Okorie(Mrs) in line with the order from the Controller General of Nigerian Correctional Service,Ahmed Ja’afaru that safety measures be put in place so that Covid-19 would not be recorded in any Custodial Centre in Nigeria.

The Controller thanked the Governor for the good gesture and promised to put the items into good use.

The items have been distributed to Makurdi Maximum Security Custodial Centre(MSCC) and Medium Security Custodial Centres(MSCC) of Gboko and Otukpo were isolation cells were created to make it safe for new inmates to be received.
