NCoS, Army Partners for Enhanced Security in Osun 

In furtherance of his familiarisation/courtesy visits to sister security agencies and critical stakeholders in the Criminal Justice Administration in Osun State, the new Controller of Corrections, Olanrewaju Amoran, visited the Commander, Engineer Construction Command(ECC), Nigerian Army Engineers, Ede, Brig. General Adesina Agboola, on Friday 18th December, 2020.

In his address, Amoran noted the importance of enhancing the partnership and collaborative efforts which are already established between NCoS and the Nigerian Army in the State. He noted that stepping up the partnership will engenders higher level of cordial relationships.

The Controller also appreciated the Nigerian Army for their support and maximum cooperation in providing reinforcements and additional security cover at Ilesa and Ile-Ife Custodial Centres, most especially during the #Endsars protests.

He as well took time to intimate his host of the rudiments of Non-Custodial Service as stipulated in the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019. He enumerated its benefits and advantages to NCoS in particular, the Criminal Justice System, and the nation in general.

Conclusively, he formally informed the Commander of the existence of Correctional Furniture Cottage Industry at Ilesa. He sought for the Nigerian Army’s patronage and recommendation of the industry to persons in their sphere of influence.

In his response, Brig General Agboola thanked the Controller and his entourage for the visit. He promised their very best in collaborating and supporting NCoS whenever there are security challenges. “It is a national duty for the Army to partner and cooperate with other sister security agencies” the commander noted. He welcomed the Controller to the state, and wished him a successful tour of duty.

Highlights of the visit included “Safety Brief”which was delivered by Captain AH Kasallah, presentation of gifts and group photographs.
