Navy Rescues Survivors from Collapsed Building in Lagos
The Nigerian Navy has deployed a rescue team following the collapse of a building in the Alakija area of Lagos State, rescuing several victims trapped beneath the rubble.
The rescued victims were evacuated to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Ojo, where they received emergency medical treatment as rescue efforts continued.
The Navy disclosed this in a statement on Monday by the Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, saying personnel responded swiftly after receiving a distress call about the incident.
According to the statement, naval personnel immediately mobilised to the scene and joined other emergency responders in search-and-rescue operations.

It said the prompt intervention, professionalism and dedication of the rescue team led to the successful rescue of several victims, who were pulled from the debris and rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Navy added that the victims are receiving continued care from medical personnel at the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Ojo, as part of efforts to ensure their full recovery.
The Chief of the Naval Staff commended the courage and professionalism displayed by the rescue team and the hospital’s medical personnel for their swift response to the emergency.
He also applauded the collaboration of other emergency response agencies and members of the public, noting that their collective efforts contributed significantly to the success of the rescue operation.
The Nigerian Navy extended its sympathy to families affected by the incident and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
It reaffirmed its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance and supporting civil authorities whenever required in line with its constitutional responsibilities.
