Monarch Counsels President Buhari on Equitable Appointments, Resources Allocations

A paramount traditional ruler and the Oluwo of Iwo land in Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has told President Muhammadu Buhari that equity, justice and fairness in the distribution of resources and political appointments are the key antidote to the threat of break up of the Nigerian nation.
The monarch counselled the President to always endeavor to balance federal appointments adding that respect for federal character is a factor to entrench Nigeria’s unity and promote it’s oneness.
He spoke at the weekend in Abuja during the public presentation of four books authored by an Abuja based lawyer, Barrister Aminu Kayode Alilu, a Prosecutor and Head of Complex Case Unit in the Federal Ministry of Justice.
Oba Akambi asked President Buhari to bend back and do a fact check to enable him do necessary adjustments in the appointments he has made so far.
“A step forward to addressing such will pave way for other collaborative moves at strengthen the unity of Nigeria “.he said
The Iwo monarch who spoke on wide range issues opposed hostility against the Fulanis adding that Nigeria is guilty and responsible for their backwardness over the years.
He urged Nigerians to love one another irrespective of religious, ethnic or political difference, adding “it is time for Nigeria to be detribalised.
“God gives us the diversity to strengthen our togetherness and not to divide us.
“Our grievances can be politely presented without destruction of our legacies.
“While we plea to government to review barbaric policies not in tune, | personally appeal to Nigerians mostly the youth to be civic in their demand,” he said.
“The love lost in Nigeria is a wound. I imagine the then love white men have to come to Nigeria and give .us western education.
“The Fulani saga is an inherited liability. We neglected them in the bush for more than 250 years and cut away amenities from them.
“Many become animals they raise and you start fighting them. It is either you kill them all or you show them love” he said
Oba Akanbi also asked Buhari to invoke and enforce death penalty as punishment for corrupt officials and ritualists in Nigeria.
Oluwo, a first class monarch maintained that Nigeria will get to no where in terms of development untill all corrupt ones are eliminated out of life as being done in China.
“I commend President Muhammadu Buhari led administration for creating a vigorous awareness against corruption but we want more from His Excellency, an enforcement of capital punishment for corrupt officials.

“Killing corrupt officials is enough to place Nigeria at the verge of developed nation. Every developing and developed nations must entrench capital punishment for corrupt men.
“Without such, effective management of the country’s resources will always be questionable.
“Mr President, we need enforcement of death penalty for the corrupt officials ”
The traditional ruler who condemned the increasing rate of ritual killings in some parts of the country called on the federal government to legislate a capital punishment for ritual killers.
“Ritual killing is prevalent and consumes more innocent souls than Boko Haram, banditry and even the first and second world wars
“Private parts of women, men, children are harvested; people are killed on a daily basis by these ritual killers all because of money.
““ A particular country and its agents have invaded Nigeria and with just N50.000 and even less, they harvest human beings parts like ordinary commodity, it is anti-human,” he said.
The monarch enjoined the youth to refrain from cultism, while tasking Nigerian authors to create awareness in their literary work to curtail the menace.
Oba Akanbi urged the Ministry of Justice to be the vehicle through which appropriate laws and legislations are made to stamp out corruption and criminal activities in the system.
“Furthermore, the youth should mobilize themselves into active politics. They should be players and not spectators. Dust your credentials, develop a positive minds to do better and vie for both appointment and elective positions.
“The solution is not destructive protest but in making changes at leadership positions. The youth are assets of monumental value.
“Destroying what our fathers constructed is synonymous with jeopordizing their own future more. If your future is not now, when will it be?
Oba Akanbi, who commended Alilu for writing the books, said: “Authors are generational builders.”
The traditional ruler commended the author of the books adding “I have met many authors but I have not met any who wrote four books at a time.
”Aminu Kayode Alilu is a poet, playwright, a novelist and an aphorist who came up with the intellectual property at a time when the country and its men are struggling to survive the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic.
” This feat is a pure indication that great men are always without excuse.”
The Attorney General of the Federation AGF and Minister of Justice, Malam Abubakar Malami SAN also commended the author of the books.
Malami, who was represented by the acting Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice, Alhaji Mohammed Umar-Etsu, recommended that the books be incorporated in the curriculum of the country’s school system.
The author of the books, Alilu, said he decided to write the books in order to make a positive impact in the country.
He urged the upcoming writers not to be discouraged about how lucrative literary work is but the impact it would make in the society.
