Naval Operatives Drill ‘Hadin Kai’ Troops on Combat Medic, Other Warfare Tactics
Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (NNSBS) operatives of Naval Base Lake Chad, have concluded a training exercise for Army troops in the North East, on various combat and warfare tactics.
NNSBS operatives, who are embedded as members of the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, extensively trained troops and personnel of the Theatre, on combat medic, weapon handling, contact drill, break-contact drill, ambush and counter ambush drills.
The training, facilitated by the Theatre Commander of OPHK, Maj Gen Christopher Musa, also offered operational planning geared towards Subalterns including leadership skills.
“The training is an opportunity for us to contribute to the capacity building of the Armed Forces, to further their skill-sets and to take that into the field, during any fight” the NNSBS training officer said.
The training, according to a senior army officer in Borno State, who declined giving his name, is coming at a time when the Armed Forces has been repositioned to work assiduously with each other, to mop up the Boko Haram Insurgency facing the Country as streams of repentant Boko Haram members have continued to surrender lately.
“The Theatre Command’s training mission and collaboration with the Nigerian Navy is one piece of a greater effort to achieve a shared operational objective in the Region,” he said.
