Iran Estimates War Damage at $270bn, Plans to Seek Compensation from US, Israel
The government of Iran has put the preliminary cost of the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel at $270 billion, citing extensive damage to infrastructure and economic losses.
Government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, disclosed the estimate on Tuesday in an interview with Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, noting that the figure remains subject to further assessment.

According to her, authorities are yet to complete a comprehensive evaluation of the destruction, with initial efforts focused on assessing damage to buildings and critical infrastructure across affected areas.
She added that broader economic impacts, including loss of revenue and disruption to state finances, would also be factored into the final calculation.
Mohajerani said Iran intends to pursue compensation from both the United States and Israel for the damages incurred since the escalation of hostilities in February.
The issue of reparations, she revealed, was part of discussions held between Iranian and U.S. officials during recent direct talks in Islamabad.
The conflict, which has heightened tensions across the region, has drawn international concern over its economic and humanitarian implications, particularly as assessments of damage and long-term recovery needs continue.
