BPSR, CIPM Strengthen Collaboration on Human Capital Devpt

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) have reiterated their joint commitment towards boosting human capital development in the public service.

The two organisations restated this on Friday in Abuja, when the President and Governing Council Chairman of CIPM led a delegation to visit the Director General of BPSR, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi.

Receiving his guests at the Bureau’s Conference Room, Mr. Arabi, explained that BPSR needs skilled manpower to deliver on its strategies and plans of initiating, monitoring and implementing reforms, as a leading reform agency.

Part of the moves they are making as a Bureau, he said, is to see how government will work with CIPM to improve the skills of public servants, so that there will be an improvement in the quality of service delivered to citizens of the country.

“As you are aware, the recent retreat chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari for Ministers and Permanent Secretaries, a lot of emphases was made on skills, capacity building and improvement on quality of service delivery,” the BPSR helmsman said.

Earlier in his remark, Mr. Olusegun Mojeed, the President of CIPM, stated that their organisation sees itself as a partner with BPSR to boosting human capital development for the nation’s accelerated growth.

“At the end of the day, this partnership is for the people of Nigeria and also making processes better. It is about reforming things both at the private and public sectors,” he added.
