Katsina Police Repel Attack, Eliminate Bandit-Terrorists, Recover 81 Cows, 64 Sheep

On 10/02/2022 at about 0100hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, armed with sophisticated weapons, including AK 47 rifles, riding on motorbike have attacked Kuru village, Musawa LGA and rustled domestic animals. Consequently, Area Commander, Dutsinma, led a team of policemen to their possible exit route, at a spot near Dangani village, Musawa LGA, engaged the terrorists into a fierce gun duel, neutralized five (5) of them, recovered one AK 47 rifle, eighty-one cows, sixty-four sheep and a donkey. Similarly, on the same date at about 0400hrs, while the team was responding to another distress call, they had an encounter with another group of terrorists-bandits, near Dangani Town, Musawa LGA, that kidnapped one Alhaji Sule, “m”, aged 62yrs of Dankwari village, Matazu LGA inside one white motor vehicle, Gulf III, with registration number BKR 367 XA. The team had a fierce gun duel with the terrorists which forced them to flee and abandoned the motor vehicle. The team succeeded and rescued the victim unhurt. The Gulf III motor vehicle was recovered as exhibit. Investigation is ongoing.
BUSTING/ARREST OF NOTORIOUS MEMBERS OF TERRORISTS AND BELONGING TO GANG OF TERRORISTS: On 3/02/2021 at about 0200hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting the duo of one Abdulrazak Salisu, ‘M’, aged 32yrs of Unguwar Samanja village and (2) Yahaya Lawal, ‘M’, aged 35yrs, alias ‘KISKIS’ of Kamfanin Daudawa village, Faskari LGA of the state, notorious members of terrorists-bandits, terrorizing Faskari and its environs. Suspects have been on the wanted list of the police. They are wanted in connection with the attack of 05/08/2021, of the house of one Bala Hussaini, ‘M’, aged 50yrs of Faskari LGA in which after committing armed robbery, the hoodlums kidnapped his three children, until the sum of one million nine hundred thousand naira (N1,900,000) ransom was paid before they were released. In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offence together with following suspects, now at large: (1) Musa Mai-AK (2) Idi Gide (3) Badaru Murnai (4) Badaru Ibrahim (5) Habu Haro (6) Ali Danbarno and (7) Ibrahim alias “Baba-Iro”. Suspects confessed to belong to the gang of notorious terrorist-bandit DANKARAMI alias GWASKA terrorizing Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto state hibernating in the forest.
ARREST OF A KIDNAPPER AND RESECUE OF A 4YRS OLD GIRL KIDNAPPED VICTIM AT MALUMFASHI: On 31/01/2022 at about 1300hrs, one Sanusi Abubakar, ‘M’, of Marabar-Kankara village, Malumfashi LGA reported to the police that since on 19/01/2022 his daughter, one Halimatu Sanusi, ‘F’, aged 4yrs, got missing and all efforts to trace her where about proved abortive. He further stated that he later received a phone call that his daughter has been kidnapped, and threatened to pay the sum of seventy thousand naira (N70,000) or risk losing her. Subsequently, Police Anti-Kidnapping unit, swung into action and carryout a diligent and meticulous investigation which led to the arrest of the mastermind one Abubakar Abdulbasir, ‘M’, aged 18yrs of Marabar-Kankara village. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and stated that he took the little girl and kept her inside an uncompleted building at the outskirt of Marabar-Kankara village. He later called the father and demanded for the payment of ransom. Victim was later rescued alive unhurt and has already reunited with her family. Suspect will be charge to court as soon as investigation is completed.
ARREST OF A SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER: On the 29/01/2022 at about 123hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting one Mohammed Gali Mustapha, ‘M’, aged 22yrs of Makaurachi village, Batagarawa, a suspected kidnapper. The fact of the case was that On 25/01/2022, suspect met one Nasibi Iliyasu, ‘M’, aged 22yrs of Gwarai village, Kaita LGA, at Ajiwa market, with a proposal to assist him with a place where he will hide the daughter of his uncle, one Zainab Aliyu, ‘F’, aged 3yrs old whom he intend to kidnap and demand for a ransom so that he can use the money for his forthcoming marriage ceremony and make it colourful. Subsequently, the said Mohammed Gali Mustapha turned down the request after series of pleads by the suspect and later reported the matter to the police. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to the commission of the offence.
ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS MEMBER OF SYNDICATE OF TERRORISTS BANDITS: On 31/01/2022 at about 1120hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting one Rabilu Abdulwahab, ‘M’, aged 27yrs of Kandawa village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state, a notorious member of syndicate of terrorists-bandits. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned (1) Ibrahim Yaro, ‘M’, (2) Abdullahi (3) suleman Yaro (4) Surajo Saidu and (5) Tijjani Abdullahi all now at large, as members of his syndicate. He further confessed that his syndicate are responsible for carrying out cattle rustling and other heinous crimes at Kandawa and other neighbouring villages.
BUSTING OF A SYNDICATE OF CAR THIEVES AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE: On 06/02/2022, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate of car thieves terrorizing Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and Yobe states. Nemesis caught up with one Muhammed Garba, ‘M’, of Sharada Quarters, Kano, a notorious car thief, a receiver of stolen motor vehicles and ex-convict, when he was arrested in one of the hotels in Katsina metropolis with a stolen motor vehicle, Golf III, Saloon, with registration number KMC 113 BE. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to have bought the motor vehicle from the duo of Inusa Muhammed, ‘M’, aged 50yrs and Aliyu Abdullahi, ‘M’, aged 40yrs both of Kambarawa Quarters, Katsina. When they were interrogated, both suspects confessed to have received the vehicle from one Ibrahim Mainasara, ‘M’, aged 28yrs of Bakiyawa village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina state. Suspect was traced and arrested at Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Kano. He confessed to have stolen the motor vehicle from a car park in Damaturu, Yobe state. He further confessed to have stolen several cars in Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, and Katsina states. Suspect is an ex-convict who has just been released from Correctional Center, Kurmawa, Kano. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED VANDALS OF KATSINA STREET LIGHTS ARMOURED CABLES: On 2/2/2022 at about 0122hrs, Police Patrol team attached to Sabon Garin Katsina Police Station, while on routine patrol accosted the duo of one Umar Yunusa, ‘M’, aged 20yrs of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina and Jamilu Hamisu, ‘M’, aged 20yrs of Shararrar pipes Quarters, Katsina, vandalizing armoured cable wire of street light at Yahaya Madawaki road, Kofar Kaura Quarters, Katsina. In the course of investigation, confessed to have committed the offence together with the following: (1) Abdulmajid alias Jibgel, (2) Aliyu Yunusa (3) Anas, alias Kaza, all now at large. One piece of armoured cable wire and plier were recovered from their possession as exhibits. Investigation is ongoing.
