By Mahmud Abdulsalam

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Ibrahim Isa Ali Pantami, together with the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Mall. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, are among the prominent global drivers of digital and information communication technology, that have been invited for the ‘2022 Gulf Information Technology Exhibition’ (GITEX).

This year’s edition will begin on Monday, October 10 to Friday, October 14, 2022.

PRNigeria reports that GITEX is an annual enterprise technology and global digital transformation held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The event underpins the rapid technology-driven transformations, investments and projects shaping the economies of the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Running for over four decades, the GITEX brand name added the suffix ‘GLOBAL’ in 2022, as a true reflection of the show’s extraordinary international reach and status.

This year’s GITEX edition is set to welcome major technology companies, startups, speakers and attendees from over 170 countries.

GITEX is the only tech event worldwide to feature a large-scale government presence, as hundreds of government entities from across the region, Ministers and public sector officials present the year’s major government digital initiatives, innovations and projects, and announce public and private sector tech partnerships.

GITEX GLOBAL includes seven multi-tech sector events, Ai Everything, North Star Dubai (region’s biggest startup showcase), Fintech Surge, Future Blockchain Summit, Marketing Mania, and two new events launching in 2022, Global DevSlam (congregating the coder-developer ecosystem) and X-VERSE (curated immersive Web 3.0 journey).

GITEX GLOBAL is organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and takes place this year from 10 – 14 October 2022.

Pantami and Kashifu will be accompanied to the GITEX event by Heads of the parastatals under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, together with select Nigerian tech experts, start ups, ICT innovators, and sponsored journalists.
