Leaking Official Secrets Harms Policy Implementation – FG tells Workers
Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Tuesday, explained how the leakage of official secrets by civil servants hinders the implementation of government policies.
Akume spoke at a training workshop for communication managers of government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

At the workshop organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), the SGF, represented by Dr. Maurice Nmadi Mbaeri, a Permanent Secretary, said: “The spread of fake news and disinformation through social and digital platforms is a worrying trend. Instead of using digital tools to inform and elevate civic discussion, some individuals are misusing these platforms to mislead and harm others,” he said.
The SGF warned that the spread of fake news affects society peace, harmony and integration.
