NAF Airstrikes Crush Terrorist Camps in Mandara Mountains, Kill Senior JAS Fighters
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a series of precision airstrikes that destroyed key terrorist hideouts and neutralised several high-ranking fighters of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram, PRNigeria learnt.
The strikes, conducted on July 6, 2025, targeted fortified camps located in the remote Mandara Mountains along the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Borno State, a region notorious for sheltering extremist elements.
PRNigeria gathered that Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions earlier confirmed suspicious activity in the enclaves of Wa Jahode and Loghpere, including the presence of terrorist infrastructure, logistics warehouses, and senior JAS commanders.
According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the ISR missions revealed structures bearing black flags and solar panels, indicating recent logistical build-up and renewed insurgent planning.

“Based on credible intelligence and surveillance, NAF strike aircraft carried out well-coordinated air interdictions on these targets, successfully destroying logistics hubs, command centres, and defensive positions used by the terrorists,” Air Commodore Ejodame stated in a press release today.
The coordinated air operations led to the killing of numerous terrorists and disrupted their supply chain, significantly weakening their operational capacity to conduct future attacks. The strikes are considered a major success in the ongoing counterterrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI.
Ejodame reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining offensive operations in troubled regions across the country. “The NAF remains resolute in its mission to dismantle all terrorist strongholds and restore lasting peace to affected communities,” he said.
The Mandara Mountains, with their rugged terrain and difficult access, have long served as safe havens for Boko Haram fighters fleeing from ground offensives. However, recent advances in ISR technology and coordinated joint force efforts have enabled more effective targeting of these previously inaccessible enclaves.
The latest airstrikes mark another milestone in Nigeria’s intensified military campaign to eliminate terrorism, restore security, and reclaim communities impacted by over a decade of insurgency.
