Shettima, Gbajabiamila Arrive London to Bring Buhari’s Body Home for Burial
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima has arrived in London early this morning on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to coordinate the repatriation of the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari late leader’s body.
He was accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
His remains are expected to be flown back to Nigeria for burial in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
Senator Shettima disclosed this information via his official Facebook handle.

On arrival, the delegation was received by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum.
“I will accompany the remains of the former President to Nigeria for burial in Daura,” the presidential aide stated.
Further details regarding the funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the Federal Government in due course.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1984 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, had been receiving medical attention in London prior to his passing.
