In Katsina, Troops Repel Bandits Attack, Rescue 3 Captives
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully repelled a bandit attack on Tashar Gemu Village in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, neutralizing one suspected bandit and rescuing three kidnapped victims unharmed.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, at about 6:00 a.m., following credible intelligence from local residents alerting security forces to the movement of armed bandits on motorcycles heading towards the community.

Responding swiftly, troops—working in synergy with police operatives and members of the Community Watch Corps—mobilized to the area to intercept the assailants.
“Upon arrival, the joint team engaged the bandits in a gunfight, which forced the criminals to retreat. The troops gave chase towards Unguwar Gambo village, where they successfully neutralized one of the attackers,” a security source said.
During the operation, three kidnapped individuals were rescued unhurt. They were identified as Yahaya Murtala, Murwana Murtala, and Suleiman Abdullahi, all residents of Tashar Gemu village.
The swift and coordinated response by security forces prevented further harm and reinforced ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across troubled parts of the state.
