COAS Orders Special Forces to Sustain Offensive, Vows No Safe Haven for Terrorists
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Waidi Shaibu, has directed troops of the 4 Special Forces Command to intensify high-impact operations and assert decisive dominance over terrorists and insurgents across the country.
Lieutenant General Shaibu gave the charge during his maiden operational visit to the 4 Special Forces Command on Tuesday in Doma, Nasarawa State, where he underscored the critical role of elite units in dismantling criminal networks threatening national security.
Addressing troops of the Command and the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, the Army Chief emphasised the need for precision-driven and intelligence-led operations to dominate the battlespace. He urged personnel to remain proactive, adaptive and mission-focused, noting that the evolving security environment requires speed, surprise and superior combat readiness.
Reaffirming his operational philosophy, Shaibu declared that the era of reactive engagements was over, warning that terrorists and other violent criminals would find no sanctuary anywhere within Nigeria’s territory.
“The Nigerian Army Special Forces remain at the forefront of our determined campaign to dismantle and neutralise criminal networks threatening national security,” he said.
