- Military Foils ISWAP Attack, Eliminates Scores of Terrorists in Borno
Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component, have repelled a coordinated assault by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Rann, headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area in Borno State.

The attack, which began around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, was met with fierce resistance from ground troops, triggering an intense firefight that raged until about 2:00 a.m. The soldiers stood their ground, dealing heavy blows to the insurgents.
As the surviving terrorists attempted to flee, the NAF Air Component launched precision air strikes on their escape routes, further degrading the enemy’s strength.
Initial reports from the battlefield indicate that at least seven terrorists were neutralised by ground forces. Exploitation operations are ongoing in locations hit by the air bombardment to determine the full scale of casualties inflicted on the group.
