The Nigeria Police Force has announced a major breakthrough in its ongoing operations against violent criminal networks, following the dismantling of a suspected IPOB/ESN enclave in Nguru, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
The operation, conducted on April 23, 2026, was carried out by operatives of the Imo State Police Command based on actionable intelligence derived from the confessional statement of a suspected high-ranking member of the group, identified as Ebube Uchenna Mmaduakolam, also known as “Ebube Virus.”
According to the Force, three suspects were arrested during the raid and are currently in custody, where they are reportedly providing security agencies with further information on the group’s logistics network, personnel structure and planned operations.
