VC NOUN tours departments, units, commends staff for commitment to work

The Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu today visited some directorates and units at the university’s headquarters, where he commended staff of the respective offices for their dedication and services.

The offices visited by the Vice Chancellor were the media and publicity, ICT, MIS, exams and assessment, library and that of human resources.

The vice chancellor, accompanied by his Personal Assistant and Media Aide, Abdulrahman Abdullahi, particularly expressed satisfaction with the staff’s unflinching faith to their duties and their excellent hard work.

At his first port of call, the media and publicity directorate, Professor Adamu symphatised with one of the staff, Bidemi Adewunmi, who was involved in a car accident recently.

The vice chancellor also visited Hajiya Aisha Kida of the Legal unit to commiserate with her over the death of four of her family members, in an accident a long Kaduna- Abuja road.

Professor Adamu, however, lamented the faulty nature of Air Conditions in some of the offices he visited and directed for their immediate repairs.

He also visited all the units under bursary, comprising of expenditure, treasury, insurance, store, payroll and final accounts, where he equally lauded the staff for their commitment to work.

The vice chancellor equally paid another to his deputy in charge of administration, Professor Victor Adedife, in his office and thanked him for the cooperation and dedication he’s always rendering to the university.

In a related development, the Vice Chancellor congratulated Mr Bola Feruke, the head of payroll unit of the university, who was appointed as the Bursar, Osun State University, Oshogbo.

Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu who visited Mr Feruke at his office, said the appointment is a great achievement to the National Open University.

He said he has confidence Mr Feruke would be a good ambassador of NOUN and encouraged him to return back to the university after completing his five-year tenure in Oshogbo.

The newly appointed Bursar of the Osun State University, the vice chancellor added, will discharge his duties responsibly.
