Gov Abba Partners Nigerian Embassy in India to Support Kano Students
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of Kano students studying in India. The governor made this clear during a recent visit to the Nigerian Embassy in New Delhi, where he held discussions with embassy officials to enhance support for Kano indigenes pursuing education abroad.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the discussions centered on improving bilateral relations and ensuring the safety, welfare, and academic success of Kano students in India. Governor Yusuf emphasized that the achievements of students abroad are critical to the state’s development and pledged to create favorable conditions to help them excel academically and contribute to Kano’s progress upon their return.
The Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in New Delhi, Ubong Akpan Johnny, praised the governor’s proactive approach and assured him of the embassy’s full cooperation. Johnny reiterated the mission’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare and security of Kano students, along with the broader Nigerian community in India.
Musbahu Bashir Sadi, the Head of Chancery at the High Commission, also pledged continued support for the students. He commended Governor Yusuf’s leadership, noting that the visit underscored his dedication to the well-being of Kano citizens studying abroad.
The governor’s visit reflects the Kano State Government’s broader strategy to strengthen international partnerships, promote cultural exchange, and enhance educational opportunities for its citizens.
