Navy Commissions Healthcare Centre, Borehole in Adamawa
The Nigerian Navy on Wednesday commissioned a newly constructed primary healthcare centre and solar-powered borehole in Mollah, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, as part of the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project.
The facility, executed in honour of Rear Admiral KG Levi, an indigene of the community, includes a maternity ward, general ward, consultation room, pharmacy, laboratory, and a 6.5 horsepower solar inverter system.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, described the project as a watershed moment in the Nigerian Navy’s civil-military cooperation efforts.
The CNS who was represented Rear Admiral Adamu Yahaya, said :”Today’s commissioning and handing over ceremony of the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project undertaken by an illustrious son of the community, Rear Admiral KG Levi, is yet another watershed in the Nigerian Navy civil-military cooperation annals.”
Rear Admiral Yahaya explained that the Quick Impact Projects, launched in 2024, were designed to facilitate civil-military cooperation and honour accomplished senior officers while demonstrating the Navy’s commitment to serving Nigerians beyond physical security.
“These projects are avenues for the Nigerian Navy to honour its accomplished senior officers and an indication that beyond physically securing lives and properties, we are committed to serving the interests of Nigerians through other ways,” he added.
In his welcome address, Rear Admiral Levi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to his community, noting that the project was conceived to address challenges in accessing quality healthcare services.

“The idea of this intervention project was conceived as a stopgap measure to breach the challenges of accessing quality healthcare services, especially basic healthcare in our communities. Therefore, when the opportunity for this Quick Impact Project arose, I considered it a top priority for the community,” Levi said.
He commended the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I Abbas, for his visionary leadership and commitment to community development projects across the nation.
“I would like to sincerely appreciate the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I Abbas, for his visionary leadership and commitment to projects such as this that positively impact communities across the nation. This initiative is a clear demonstration of the Navy’s role as a force for good,” he stated.
Levi also acknowledged the support of the Adamawa State Government, the local government, and the community in ensuring the timely completion of the project.
The Rear Admiral urged community members to take ownership of the facility and ensure proper maintenance for future generations.
“I must not fail to observe that the burden of care and safeguarding of the facilities rest squarely with you, the benefitting community. The only way we could appreciate this wonderful gift by the Nigerian Navy is to ensure that we do all we can to preserve this facility,” he emphasized.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to use the facilities responsibly and continue collaborating with the Nigerian Navy, the Armed Forces, and other security agencies in ensuring collective security.
“We appeal that in keeping with the tenets of civil-military cooperation, the good people of this community and Adamawa State at large will continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Navy, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and other security agencies as we eliminate threats to our collective well-being,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the Hyema community, with excitement visible among residents who eagerly anticipated the formal commissioning of the facility.
