Army Retires 18 Senior Officers After 35 Years of Service
The Nigerian Army on Thursday formally retired 18 senior officers of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) after 35 years of distinguished service to the nation.
The officers were honoured at a ceremonial pulling-out parade held in Benin City, Edo State, marking the conclusion of a three-day corps conference.
The retiring officers comprise four Major Generals and 14 Brigadier Generals, whose careers spanned decades of operational, command, and staff responsibilities within the Army.
Speaking at the event, the Corps Commander, NACST, Danjuma Shagaya, described the ceremony as both a celebration and recognition of the officers’ dedication and contributions to national service.
He noted that the pulling-out parade remains a longstanding military tradition designed to honour years of sacrifice and commitment, adding that the presence of serving and former corps commanders underscored the significance of the occasion.
