Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised a suspected terrorist scout and arrested a suspected drug peddler in separate operations conducted in Borno State as part of ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and criminal activities in the North-East.
Military sources disclosed that the first operation took place at about 10:15 p.m. on June 6 in Konduga Local Government Area, where troops of the 73 Battalion carried out an ambush operation following intelligence reports on the movement and possible concentration of suspected terrorists around Malari village.
According to the sources, troops were deployed to the area and laid an ambush after receiving information indicating insurgent activity within the vicinity. During the operation, soldiers reportedly observed an individual suspected to be conducting reconnaissance approaching from the direction of Malari village.
The suspect was challenged and ordered to stop but allegedly continued advancing towards the troops’ position. He was subsequently engaged and neutralised by the troops.
