APC Accuses Osun Governor of Deploying Amotekun to Guard Family Business
The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of illegally deploying operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps to provide security for a private business facility owned by the governor’s family in neighbouring Ondo State.
The allegation was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Director-General of the Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, a member of the House of Representatives representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.
According to the council, credible intelligence reports indicate that no fewer than 50 operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps have been stationed at Pacific Energy Company, a facility owned by Dr. Deji Adeleke, elder brother of Governor Ademola Adeleke, in Omotosho Village along the Benin-Ore Road in Ondo State.
The APC campaign body described the development as “disturbing” and “unacceptable,” arguing that personnel recruited, trained and funded with public resources for the protection of Osun residents should not be deployed to secure private business interests outside the state’s territorial jurisdiction.
The council alleged that the operatives were led by Commander Aseye Matthew Olusola and another official identified as Kazeem Raji, popularly known as “Emin Esu.”
It expressed concern that the alleged deployment comes at a time when many communities in Osun State continue to grapple with security challenges, including kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes.
“This disturbing development raises fundamental questions about the priorities of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration at a time when residents of Osun State are facing growing security threats from kidnappers, armed criminals and other violent elements operating across the Southwest,” the statement said.

The council further cited the reported case of an Amotekun operative, Abdullahi Adedeji, said to be from Egbedore Local Government Area, who was allegedly deployed to the Ondo facility and subsequently involved in a motorcycle accident while travelling to the assignment.
According to the APC campaign council, the operative sustained severe head injuries in April 2026 and was allegedly instructed to return home without adequate medical care. The council claimed that he later died as a result of the injuries and lack of proper treatment.
Beyond the alleged deployment, the opposition council also questioned the management of security funds under the Adeleke administration.
It noted that Governor Adeleke had reportedly accessed N14.9 billion in security votes up to last year but alleged that there was little evidence of corresponding investments in security infrastructure and operational assets.
The council described as “worrisome and scandalous” claims that the security vote had been expended largely on the operations and honorarium of Amotekun personnel, despite the absence of new patrol vehicles, surveillance equipment, communication gadgets and other critical security assets.
It maintained that security agencies in the state were still relying substantially on equipment procured by the previous APC administration.
Consequently, the APC Governorship Campaign Council called on Governor Adeleke to provide a transparent account of how the N14.9 billion security vote was utilised.
The council also demanded an explanation for the alleged deployment of Osun Amotekun operatives to protect a private family-owned enterprise in Ondo State while security concerns persist in various parts of Osun.
As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Government and the Osun Amotekun Corps had not issued any official response to the allegations.
