Government Charges Women on Attitude Change for Economic Growth
The Director General of National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) Barr. Mary Ekpere-Eta has called for attitudinal change from Nigerian Women to grow Nigeria economically.
She gave this change recently in Abuja when she was awarded with an honour in recognition for her leadership roles to Nigerian Women by the Institute of Strategic Entrepreneur of Nigeria (ISEN). Her conferment with this fellowship award has proved her drive for the monumental contributions to humanity, entrepreneurial development in society most especially, the empowerment of women and people with disabilities.
Accepting the award, Barr. Mary Ekpere-Eta urged Nigerian women to work hard to contribute their quota to Nation building.
She assured Nigerian women that an era will come when they will take over the leadership of this great Country but they must start with right attitude in leadership role once entrusted with it. According to her, ‘‘women need little contribution to turn the fortunes of this great nation around’’. She further stated that her Organisation (NCWD) graduated 76 female farmers on ICT and Entrepreneurial training recently. They were also given Laptops and Stipends to start up their business with a promise to introduce them to CBN and BOI for agricultural loans, she further disclosed.
The DG, reiterated that once we do our bits in our individual capacities, Nigeria will be a better place to live in. She charged Nigerian female farmers to adopt the principle of planting to sustain the agricultural needs of the country. Barr. Mary Ekpere-Eta cited Japan as example, where each region is known with a particular crop to feed the nation and export the excess for foreign earnings.
The occasion was graced by other dignitaries from all works of life.
