Troops Neutralise Two Suspected ISWAP Spies in Nigeria–Cameroon Border
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised two suspected spies linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a patrol operation along the Nigeria–Cameroon border in Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was conducted by personnel of the 152 Battalion, Banki, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), as part of intensified border security operations in the area.
The suspects were reportedly intercepted in the early hours of Sunday while attempting to cross from the Cameroonian side into Nigerian territory through the border corridor.
According to the sources, the individuals were suspected of entering Nigeria either to monitor troop movements or to facilitate the procurement of logistics for terrorist elements operating within the North-East theatre.

Troops were said to have observed the suspects as they crossed the border fence before engaging them during an ambush operation.
Both suspects were neutralised during the encounter. Following the incident, troops conducted a follow-up exploitation of the area and reinforced surveillance along the border axis to prevent further infiltration attempts.
Military authorities stated that forces under Operation Hadin Kai have sustained heightened vigilance across forward operating locations and border communities as part of ongoing efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of movement, reconnaissance capability, and logistical support.
They added that the overall security situation in the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, with troops maintaining strong operational readiness and morale.
Operation Hadin Kai continues to conduct coordinated offensive and border security operations aimed at disrupting insurgent networks and preventing cross-border infiltration by terrorist elements and their collaborators.
