Troops Kill Suspected Terrorist, Recover AK-47 Rifle in Sokoto
Troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Binji have neutralised a suspected terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during an operation in Soruro village, within the Tangaza area of Sokoto State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation followed a distress call reporting the presence of suspected terrorists in the village at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12.

According to the sources, the troops responded to the alert and made contact with the suspected terrorists at about 5:00 a.m., triggering an encounter.
One suspected terrorist was neutralised during the operation, while the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 27 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
The operation forms part of ongoing security efforts to track down armed groups, recover illegal weapons and disrupt their activities in Sokoto State.
