Troops arrest two over murder in Zangon Kataf LGA
-Govt vows to prosecute those inciting violence
Two suspects linked to a murder incident have been arrested by Special Forces of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State.
The military has informed the Kaduna State Government that the suspects have been handed over to the police.
The suspects, Malam Abdullahi Hamza and Idris Mohammed, were arrested at Kakwa village, Gora District in Atyap Chiefdom for alleged involvement in a murder incident in October 2020.
The government thanked troops for carrying out diligent surveillance which led to the arrest of the suspects. It said the arrests gives hope of justice to those that lost their loved ones in the incident.
A government statement added that cases involving those that allegedly instigated violence or acts capable of disrupting public order will not be swept under the carpet.
Similarly, the government has received a security report on how armed bandits kidnapped some citizens at Ungwan Gwaiva in Chikun local government,and the killing of two volunteers (Sunday Bawa and Samuel Luka) at a forest near Ungwan Yashi.

According to the report, the volunteers were closing in on the bandits when they were ambushed and killed. As at this moment, the ground and air troops of the Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) are still carrying out aggressive fighting patrols in the Gadani general area up to the boundaries with neighboring Niger State.
The names of those kidnapped will be made public as soon as security agencies provide subsequent operational feedback.
The government has sent condolences to their families and assured the communities in the Gwagwada general area of the commitment of government and security to their plight.
The government appealed for mutual collaboration between communities and security agencies towards tackling the armed bandits operating in Shiroro local government area of Niger State and parts of Chikun local government.
On the Kaduna-Abuja Road, Kaduna State Government commends the military and police for the increased security assets deployed to the route.
Security agencies have assured the government that aggressive fighting patrols will continue on the route along with special operations to destroy hideouts of the armed bandits.
