The Akwa Ibom State Command of NSCDC and the security leadership of ExxonMobil have resolved to strengthen the relationship between both organizations in the area of intelligence sharing. This resolution was made today, March 8, 2023 when the security manager of ExxonMobil, *Mr Andy Eddy* paid a working visit to *Comdt Yusuf Adam Imam* at the command headquarters in Uyo.
Mr Andy gave a summary of the operations of ExxonMobil in Qua Iboe Terminal, Eket, describing the complexity of the process and the place of security. He concluded by expressing his satisfaction with NSCDC personnel at their location, who are saddled with Access Control. According to him, “we have no threat concerns right now, thanks to your personnel who handle our access control amongst other services. A good Access Control system means that only the right people/materials go in and come out. NSCDC personnel who handle this part of our critical security have been excellent, with full compliant to laid down company process”.
In his remarks, Dr. Yusuf Imam acknowledged the pivotal role intelligence plays in reinforcing a good security system. He assured Andy that NSCDC has very competent highly trained personnel who are wired to deliver quality security services with integrity. He equally notified and admonished ExxonMobil to take advantage of the services that the Marine section of NSCDC offers, using its newly acquired state of the art gunboat.
Much to the delight of Andy, Comdt Imam assured him that the Command will not pull out its personnel from the facility for election duty because it considers QIT as a critical infrastructure that he is mandated to give priority security protection to at all times.
Mr Andy was accompanied by Walter Enang, while the head of CNAI, DCC Essien Sunday was also in attendance.
