Shuaib vs Okonjo-Iweala: Again Justice Isele Unable to Deliver Judgement on Health-Ground
Contrary to the decision of Justice David Isele to Deliver 10 judgement on Labour related matters on November 16, the judge did not sit.

The Industrial court judge was said to be down with an undisclosed ailment which also necessitated the last adjournment on November 10, 2017.

With the latest adjournment, the court clerk has now fixed next Wednesday, November 22, 2017 to deliver the scheduled judgements on Labour related matters at the National Industrial Court, Abuja.

Prominent among the cases slated for judgement are Yushau Shuaib Against Federal Government and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala over unlawful retirement, Maureen Imuekehle Against Fortune Micro Finance Bank, John Ochigbo Against Union Bank of Nigeria, Rabiu Mahmud against Total Facilities Management Limited among others.

Since his recent transfer l to Kano Division of the National Industrial Court, Justice Isele had been shuttling to Abuja frequently to clear a backlog of labour cases.

Some of the cases had witness series of adjournments due to annual vacation, transfer of judges and ill-health.

Few of the cases have also suffered adjournment as far back as April 2017 when final addresses were adopted by lawyers in the matters.

Although the lawyers and litigants did not make open comments on the inability of the court to sit and deliver the judgement, they nevertheless understand his official schedules of travelling between two cities and his health condition. They nevertheless prayed for his quick recovery.
