Army 82 Division Hosts Inter-Brigade Competition
The General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adamu Baba Abubakar  has today Monday the 23rd of July 2018 declared open the 2018, 82 Division Inter Brigade Warrant Officers (WOs) and Senior Non Commission Officers(SNCOs) Competition. The event is currently ongoing at the Garrison Parade Ground, Abakpa Cantonment Enugu.
In his remarks at the occasion, General Abubakar reminded the participants that the competition is an annual event, has been held for over 15 years in all the Nigerian Army Formations across the nation.
“The competition is aimed at effective training in warfare dynamics, battle maneuvers and enhancing/ improving the physical fitness, leadership traits, discipline, cooperation and spirit-de-corps amongst SNCOs who are the bridge between the soldiers and officers of the Nigerian Army (NA)”- General Abubakar stated.
Similarly, the present security situation facing the country requires constant strategic,  operational preparedness by the army units and formations across the nation. Hence, it is imperative for the NA to regularly engage their officers and men in training and retraining inorder to maintain sound, mental and physical readiness at all times to effectively tackle the hybrid security challenges in line with the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Yusuf Tukur Buratai’s vision which is “to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional roles”.
