Skills Certification: Prison Inmates Make Preparation
A total of 24 inmates of Benin Prison in Benin City Edo State are undergoing skills acquisition training in Carpentry, Welding Works, Shoe Making, Electrical, Barbing and Tailoring.
According to the Officer Incharge of the Prison Deputy Controller of Prisons DCP Andrew Egbobawaye, 10 of the inmates have been fully trained and now enrolled for Trade Test (TT) Skills Certification. He also said that they are being prepared for life outside of the Prison on their eventual release.

The inmates were presented to the Controller of Prisons Edo State Command CP Joseph E. Usendiah who visited the Workshop Sections of the Prison.
CP Usendiah in his remarks advised the inmates to continue to be of good conducts in line with their training and to maximize the trianing opportunity for a successful Reformation and effective Reintegration back into the larger society for productivity.
The CP finally called for support and collaborations by the State Government and philanthropist to assist in up grading the workshop and for the provision of trade/work tools for the inmates.
