Magajiya Dambatta: Philanthropist pledges to rehabilitate 84 year-old ace Kano Female Singer

A renowned development worker with over two decades experience, Alh. Musa Abdullahi Sufi, has promised to rehabilitate Mallama Magajiya Dambatta, and her presently ‘wretched’ living condition.

Madam Dambatta, an indigene of Kano State, was a popular Hausa artiste who produced numerous advocacy songs in the 70s on the importance of education, good moral values, and child upbringing, while also condemning social vices, among others.

The renowned female singer, who has since gone blind, presently begs for alms to survive at Makoda village in Kano where she lives.

Alh. Sufi, also assured that he will rebuild the dilapidated house of the veteran female Hausa musician, while also providing her with food provisions and clothes, among other essential needs.

Sufi, a generous philanthropist, made the pledges to Jaafar Jaafar of Daily Nigerian, a popular online medium in Abuja.

In a Facebook post to disseminate the news of Sufi’s kind gesture to the Kano-born ace singer, Jaafar, who is the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Nigerian, said: “I received telephone calls, messages and tags from friends in torrents tonight, indicating their interest to donate to Magajiya Dambatta.”

Continuing, he added: “A renowned development worker with over 20 years of experience in humanitarian service, Musa Abdullahi Sufi, has volunteered to provide the account of a foundation (where he is a member of the Board of Trustees).

“He will furnish Dr. Ibrahim Musa and I, with the daily update on the donations, and I will in turn publish the development here (Jaafar’s Facebook account).

“The target is to rebuild her house, provide clothing materials, food, etc.”

Jaafar, appealed to those willing to assist the poor Magajiya Dambatta to contact Sufi on 08054724860.

He said they can send in their monetary donations to the bank account indicated below.
