Abuja Estate Evacuates Politician Son Infected with Coronavirus

Residents of Taslee Palm City Estate, Plot 475, Uruguay Street, in Maitama, Abuja, have evacuated the son of a prominent politician who tested positive to COVID-19, few days ago.

According to a statement issued by the estate’s association, which PRNigeria obtained, the affected patient was evacuated by medical personnel from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for treatment.

Though, the name of the evacuated individual was not mentioned in the release, PRNigeria gathered from a reliable source, who stays in the estate, that the coronavirus victim is a son to a ‘big’ politician in Abuja.

Residents of the estate were advised to prevent their children from playing outside their homes, and also minimize the number of visitors they invite into the estate as proper screening will be carried out henceforth.

“All none resident domestic staff such as drivers, cleaners, cooks, and nannies, among others, will not be granted access into the estate,” the Taslee Estate Palm City Residents Association (TPCRA) said.

Meanwhile, PRNigeria gathered that the three persons reported to have tested positive for coronavirus in Abuja, recently returned from the United Kingdom (UK), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Switzerland and France.

They separately returned to Nigeria aboard Lufthansa, Emirates and British Airlines on the 14, 17 and 18 of March.

Two of the victims, males, are aged 53 and 31, while the third person, a female, is 20.

The teenage lady, who is a student, PRNigeria learnt, has not gone into self-isolation, same with the 31 year-old businessman.

However, the elderly man, 53, has since embarked on self-isolation at an unknown apartment to avoid infecting others.
