Sports Minister forges partnership with   Innovators in Response  to Coronavirus
The efforts of the  FG through the Youth and Sports Ministry to create enabling environment for innovativeness and entrepreneurship amongst our youths, already  yielding positive fruits.  An indigenous company called BENNIE, has  produced a machine to curb and stop the spread of  COVID-19 in Nigerian .
The Ministry  under the visionary leadership of Mr Sunday Dare has challenged  youths to key into its  programmes and initiatives that would build their capacity for  Digital Skills, Entrepreneurship and Work place Experience in fait accomlpli to its mandate of creating opportunities for youths to come up with ideas and innovative thinking on how to produce sanitizers and sundry items with a promise of partnership with any such youth. Also quite commendable was the production of face masks and hand sanitizers by members of the National Youth Service Corp ( NYSC ) from Nasarawa state with a token presentation to the Ministry, received by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Gabriel Aduda in Abuja.
Jerry Malo, the young innovator from Jos, Plateau state, answered this clarion call through the engineering and production of a dual purpose Sanitizing/Washing machine equipment, fitted with a water tank and a hose pipe for draining dirty water; effectively complementing efforts  of  the FG to stop  the  spread of COVID-19 amongst the citizenry.
To this end, the Ministry  will be supporting the young innovator with the sponsorship of the production of additional five (5) equipments. It is believed that this would encourage more innovative and creative ideas amongst our youths.
Indeed the adage that says : ‘The value of an idea lies in its usage to mankind” cannot be more apt.
