Again, Anambra Police Nab Young Robbers, Cultists with Firearms

Again, Anambra Police Nab Young Robbers, Cultists with Firearms

During the week under review,police operatives attached to the Anambra State Command have recorded cases of interest to members of the public as follows:

On 3/3/2021 at about 2:20pm,following intelligence report, police operatives attached to Ogbaru Division arrested one Chibueze Ani ‘m’, aged 23 years, of Anibueze village Odekpe in Ogbaru LGA and Ebuka Umegbolu “m’ aged aged 25 years of Abalauno village in Ndokwa East LGA of Delta State.

Suspects specialises in Stealing tricycles both in Anambra and Delta State.Exhibits recovered in their possessions include one tricycle with REG number NKK 848 QL allegedly stolen at Ukpor street Iyioma Odekpe .

On 5/3/2021 at about 10:am,following a distress call of robbery oprration around Nneyi Umueri in Anambra West LGA,police patrol team immediately dispatched to the scene,engaged the robbers and eventually arrested one Ejimofor Igbanugo ‘m’ aged 22 years of Umueze Anam and Ebuka Chiagbata ‘m’ aged 20 years of same address.Exhibits recovered in their possessions include one revolver pistol and three live ammunition.

Consequently,on the 5/3/2021 at about 8:pm,following a report that some hoodlums were robbing people close to Ukpo junction,by Enugu/Onitsha Expressway,Police patrol team quickly rushed to the scene and dislodged the hoodlums who jettisoned the robbery operation abandoning one motorcycle and a locally made short gun with three live cartridges.Exhibits recovered and effort is ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects in order to bring them to justice.

Also on 3/3/2021, at about 5:45am, following a credible intelligence report, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-Cult Unit raided an uncompleted three storey building in Awka and arrested Nine (9) suspected cultists including one Chinonso Mba ‘m’ aged 25 years native of Ezira in Awgwu LGA of Enugu State but reside at same uncompleted building with a locally made double barrel gun and two live cartridges.Other exhibits recovered in their possessions include one Dagger,two knives,one machete,charms and some quantities of dry leaves suspected to be indian hemp.

Suspects confessed to be members of a secret cult group called, “PAYTON CON FRATERNITY”All cases are under investigation after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, a total of (13) suspects, three locally made guns,eight ammunition,two knives,one dagger,one machete,one tricycle,one motorcycle,charms and some quantity of dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa were recovered as exhibits.

The Commissioner of Police CP Monday Bala Kuryas,fsi reassures the public that the Command under his watch will continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and crannies in the State until they repent or relocate from the State.
