The killing of seven soldiers of the Nigerian Army in the South East on Tuesday and Wednesday has created panic among residents of the region, PRNigeria has learnt.

According to one of the sources, the targeting of security personnel by IPOB terrorists, especially soldiers on national assignment is becoming worrisome.

“The first attack occurred at an army checkpoint along the Obeagu-Amodu road in Enugu South local government area of Enugu State, when suspected IPOB gunmen stormed the checkpoint in two Lexus Jeeps and one Toyota Sienna, and opened fire on troops
“The following day, the gunmen attacked soldiers who were on a patrol near Nkwo Market, at Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, while condemning the killings, vowed to do everything to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted.
