9 Agreements Signed for Customs Modernisation Project

The Trade Modernisation Project (TMP) Limited has signed, and already implemented nine technical agreements with some technical and financial partners for the Nigeria Customs Service Modernisation Project.

TMP Ltd is the Concessionaire for the Customs Modernisation Project, driven by the Federal Government’s economic agenda, aiming to optimize and diversify government revenue significantly away from the oil industry.

The project is being implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, which terms are set out in a Concession Agreement (CA) executed on 30th May 2022 between the Federal Government of Nigeria (represented by the Nigeria Customs Service Board) as Grantor, and Trade Modernisation Project (TMP) Limited, as Concessionaire.

2. Huawei – Lead Technical Partner

3. CBXP Limited – Software Development

4. Nuctech Company Limited – Non-Intrusive Inspection (Cargo Scanners)

5. Boya E-Project Limited – Independent Expert to NCS and TMP

6. Emi Solutions Limited – Quality Assurance Expert to NCS and TMP

7. Chert Solutions Limited – OEM Representative for hardware and services

8. Sambus Global Nigeria Limited – Geospatial Services

9. Sandhall Global Consulting and Services Limited – Facility Management and Site

The Customs Modernisation Project project creates the basis for improving NCS’ services (i.e. improve revenue generation, facilitate trade development, minimise corruption), and place its operations on the path of long-term sustainability.

The project is expected to have a significant long-term impact on the social and economic development of the country.
