NITDA, Fund Sign MoU for Boosting Food Security Using Technology
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has formalized a partnership with the National Agriculture Development Fund (NADF) to deploy technology solutions in agricultural development, boosting food security.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Abuja on Thursday.
The Director General, NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, emphasized the importance of technology in achieving President Bola Tinubu’s vision for food security.
“The President is committed to achieving food security, and we cannot discuss agriculture without technology. This MoU will harness emerging technologies to enhance agricultural productivity.”

Inuwa highlighted previous initiatives, partnerships with stakeholders, tertiary institutions, research and development, and startups to develop agricultural technologies.
He said the agency had disbursed grants to startups with innovative ideas.

Mr. Bosun Tijani, has demonstrated similar projects on his farm.
The Minister is committed to achieve this. Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure this project’s success, culminating in today’s signing,” Inuwa added.
The Executive Secretary, NADF, Muhammad Abu Ibrahim, on his part, stressed the critical link between technology and agriculture.
He said despite challenges like insecurity, farmer-herder clashes, climate change, and funding, emerging technologies will enable data-driven decision-making.
“Technology has significantly impacted agriculture. This partnership will optimize our response and prioritize limited resources,” Ibrahim said.
