Police Boss Orders Comprehensive PR, Communication Training for 10,000 Recruits
In a significant move to enhance the effectiveness and public image of the Nigeria Police Force, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has mandated immediate training in public relations, human relations, and communication for 10,000 recruits currently undergoing training across 17 police training institutions nationwide.

A statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that IGP Egbetokun directed the Force PR Department to develop a comprehensive course outline tailored specifically for this initiative. The training aims to instill essential knowledge and skills pertaining to the principles of public relations, effective human interaction, and superior communication techniques.
The IGP emphasized that the foundational training is designed not only to enhance the recruits’ professional competencies but also to foster a culture of quality service delivery within the Force. By equipping new intakes with these vital skills, IGP Egbetokun hopes to improve community engagement and reinforce public trust in law enforcement.
This initiative reflects the current administration’s commitment to modernizing the police force, ensuring that officers are well-prepared to meet the demands of contemporary policing while maintaining transparency and accountability.
