Borno: Troops Foil Terrorist Infiltration Near Military Training School, Arrest Logistics Suppliers
Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have foiled an attempted terrorist infiltration near the North East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi, Borno State, while also arresting suspected logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram/ISWAP networks operating in parts of the state.
The operation, which forms part of ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency efforts in the North-East, also led to the disruption of terrorist support structures and the arrest of suspected collaborators in Damboa Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Acting Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Haruna M. Sani, troops swiftly responded to the sighting of terrorists advancing toward the North East Theatre Training School at about 9:00 a.m. on June 9.
The troops, he said, employed coordinated firepower to neutralise the threat and deny the terrorists freedom of action.
“Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of two terrorist corpses and one motorcycle, confirming the effectiveness of the operation and the failure of the attempted infiltration,” the statement said.

Items recovered from the suspects included 19 wristwatches, a large mat, a transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals, and other materials believed to be intended for terrorist use.
In a related development, combined troops of Sector 2 and CJTF operatives also arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Adams Shittima, in Damboa town while allegedly attempting to procure farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorist elements.
Military authorities said the suspect confessed during preliminary interrogation to providing logistics support and intelligence to insurgents operating in the area.
The military high command commended troops for their professionalism, vigilance, and resilience, noting that the operations reflect Operation HADIN KAI’s resolve to dismantle terrorist support networks, deny insurgents freedom of action, and create conditions for lasting peace and socio-economic recovery in the North-East.
