Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have crushed an ISWAP roadblock along the Buratai–Kamuya road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, rescuing 53 civilians and recovering eight vehicles seized by the terrorists.
The successful operation was carried out by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, as part of the military’s sustained offensive against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the North-East.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Capt. Mohammed Goni, the troops responded swiftly after surveillance cameras deployed at Dutse Kura detected terrorists mounting an illegal roadblock on the highway.
He said a Quick Reaction Force was immediately dispatched to the scene, where the troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon the roadblock and flee toward the Mangari–Dora general area.
