AANI Mourns Former Immigration Boss, David Paradang

The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mr. David Shikfu Paradang, CFR, mni, former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). Paradang, who died in Abuja, was celebrated as an invaluable pillar of the association and a dedicated public servant whose contributions to national development, peace, and security left an indelible mark.

In a statement issued by AANI’s National President, Ambassador E.O. Okafor, mni, on behalf of the association’s executive committee and members, Paradang was eulogized as a committed patriot and a visionary leader. The statement highlighted his unwavering dedication to public service and his significant role in shaping Nigeria’s security framework during his tenure as Comptroller General of the NIS.

A member of Senior Executive Course (SEC) 29, 2007, at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Paradang’s career was characterized by excellence and a deep sense of duty. His leadership at the Nigerian Immigration Service was marked by transformative reforms and a steadfast commitment to national progress.

Even in his final days, Paradang remained actively engaged in initiatives aimed at advancing Nigeria’s development. Just two weeks before his passing, he played a pivotal role in a joint retreat organized by AANI and NIPSS, where his expertise and insights significantly contributed to the formulation of the NIPSS 2005-2029 strategic plan.

“AANI has lost a true patriot and a committed member who was always eager to contribute to meaningful change,” the statement read. “His insights, leadership, and unwavering dedication to national service will be sorely missed.”

The association extended its heartfelt condolences to Paradang’s family, friends, and colleagues, praying for divine strength and comfort during this difficult time. AANI also acknowledged the profound impact of his legacy, noting that his passing represents a significant loss not only to the association but to the entire nation.

Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka (rtd), AANI’s spokesperson, described Paradang’s demise as a monumental loss. “Mr. David Paradang was a beacon of excellence and a true nation-builder. His outstanding service and commitment to national progress have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire future generations,” he said.

As the nation mourns the loss of a distinguished public servant, AANI reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the values and ideals that Paradang championed throughout his remarkable career. His life and work remain a testament to the power of dedication, integrity, and service to humanity.
